This video dives into the history of the Amazon Rainforest’s management in Brazil, its current state, and what it will take to save one of Earth's most valuable natural assets. For those living in areas such as British Columbia, we should look to our own backyards and the forestry practices enacted by our government, especially in relation to old growth logging.
Timber products are a necessary component of life, so too is the food and other products we consume that are often grown in deforested areas. We need to find balance between socio-economic wellbeing and preservation of the natural world, especially by being more efficient with growing practices on land that is already cleared and recycling wood products where possible.
