Watch It Wednesday #57

Over the past 70 years the ocean has absorbed approximately 93% of the excess energy stored in the Earth’s climate system. This excess energy is directly attributed to human activities such as the combustion of fossil fuels and land use changes. This week’s video examines the critical roles the ocean plays in controlling global weather and climate patterns, along with how we can observe, measure, and track changes to the oceans' many interrelated variables, and what the impacts of those changes might be.
